POLITICAL LINGUOPERSONOLOGY: A RECEPTIVE MODEL OF “SCIENTIFIC DISCOURSE THROUGH THE LENS OF AN AUTHORIAL CONCEPTION OF A SPECIFIC DISCURSIVE-TEXTUAL SPACE”

Abstract

Introduction. This article examines a particular authorial conception of political linguopersonology as an integral component of the syncretic discipline of linguopersonology, whose methodological foundations are shaped by social, linguocultural, linguophilosophical, and lingual-political factors structured through systemic – hierarchical relations. The conception is constructed on the basis of the discursive-textual space of the prominent Ukrainian political thinker Dmytro Dontsov.
Purpose. The purpose of the study is to characterize, from extra- and intralingual axiological perspectives, the author’s individual conception of political linguopersonology and the phenomenon of D. Dontsov’s political linguistic personality. These are distinguished, on the one hand, by the specificity of their methodological foundations and speech practices, and, on the other, by a concrete representational model grounded in the existential, cognitive-axiological, and linguocreative dimensions of the discursivetextual space of D. Dontsov as an elite political linguistic personality.
Methods. Achievement of this aim was facilitated by a range of general scholarly and specialized linguistic methods: induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, axiological and comparative approaches, the linguopsychobiographical method, contextual – interpretative analysis, and formalization.
Taken together in hierarchical unity, these methods provided a reliable foundation for shaping, presenting, and objectively assessing the authorial conception of political linguopersonology and the political linguoperson.
Results. The study focuses primarily on characterizing the author’s model for interpreting the speech practices and type of language – thinking of the Ukrainian political figure D.Dontsov. The research confirms the relevance of applying existential pragmatics, cognitive-axiological, and creative–figurative approaches, each retaining its constitutive autonomy while, in combination, they convincingly represent the
immanent qualities of the linguoperson (D.Dontsov). Above all, they elucidate the value orientations of his linguistic consciousness, demonstrate the features of his idiolect and idiolectal style, and ultimately reconstruct his holistic linguistic portrait.
Emphasis is placed on five scholarly discourses which, in appropriate scope and with a high degree of precision, reflect the content of the conception of political linguopersonology and the phenomenon of political activity in D.Dontsov’s linguistic personality as developed by O.Mykytyuk: 1) political linguopersonology as a vector of linguistic personality theory; 2) Dontsov’s discursive-textual space in its existential dimension; 3) Dontsov’s discursive-textual space in its cognitive–axiological dimension; 4) Dontsov’s idiolectal style; 5) Dontsov’s linguocreativity. The content-dominants of these scholarly trajectories are identified, the functional–pragmatic potential of their verbalization is elucidated, and the conceptual connections that reveal the depth of meaning and formal specificity of Dontsov’s discursivetextual space are established.
Originality. The study advances innovative approaches to substantiating the status parameters of the concepts “linguistic personality”, “elite linguistic personality”, “political linguistic personality”, “discursive-textual space”, “politotoponym”, “polit-anthroponymic nexus”, and others. It outlines the encyclopedic prospects of these terminological units and establishes the intra- and extralingual priorities of the selected approaches. Markers of D. Dontsov’s discursive-textual creativity as a political linguistic personality are identified, and the features of both scholarly and linguistic creativity in O.Mykytyuk – the
author of the reviewed conception – are highlighted.
Conclusions. The linguistic material analyzed constitutes a significant contribution to the theoretical–pragmatic framework not only of linguopersonology – particularly political, general, linguocultural, and societal linguopersonology – but also of other conceptually related fields of the humanities. The proposed authorial methodology for existential, cognitive–axiological, and creative–figurative interpretation of the speech practices of an elite linguistic personality will foster further research into the discursive-textual spaces and modes of language–thinking characteristic of prominent national linguopersons.
