Anti-plagiarism policy
The Editorial Board of the collection of scientific papers “Linguistic Bulletin” (“Movoznavchyi Visnyk”) adheres to the principles of academic integrity and scientific publication ethics. Our activities are guided by the current legislation of Ukraine regarding education, scientific research, and intellectual property, as well as the recommendations of international organizations, particularly the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- General Provisions
1.1. The anti-plagiarism policy is aimed at ensuring the high quality of scientific publications, preventing copyright infringement, and upholding the principles of integrity within the scientific community.
1.2. Submission of a manuscript implies that the author(s) guarantee(s) the originality of the submitted material; confirm(s) that the text has not been previously published (except as provided by editorial policy); properly format(s) all citations and borrowings; and agree(s) with the plagiarism screening policy.
- Manuscript Screening for Plagiarism
2.1. All scientific articles submitted to the editorial office undergo mandatory screening for textual borrowings using specialized software (including StrikePlagiarism or other similar text-matching systems).
2.2. The executive editor analyzes the screening results, considering the level of similarity, the nature of borrowings, the presence of correct citations, and the specific requirements of the scientific field.
2.3. The decision regarding the further consideration of a manuscript is based not only on the percentage of similarity but also on a comprehensive content analysis.
- Types of Academic Misconduct
Violations include:
3.1. Plagiarism – presenting (in full or in part) someone else's scientific results as one's own without proper attribution.
3.2. Self-plagiarism – the re-use by an author of their own previously published materials without appropriate citation or justification.
3.3. Inadequate Citation – the absence or incorrectness of bibliographic references.
3.4. Fabrication – inventing data or research results.
3.5. Falsification – deliberate manipulation or distortion of scientific data or results.
- Procedures for Responding to Misconduct
4.1. If signs of misconduct are detected during initial review or peer review, the manuscript is rejected. The author(s) will receive a notification with a reasoned explanation. In cases of minor citation-related issues, the author may be invited to revise the manuscript.
4.2. In the event of significant violations, the manuscript will not be considered for resubmission. The editorial office reserves the right to notify the institution where the research was conducted.
4.3. If violations are discovered after an article has been published, a retraction procedure will be initiated. Information about the retraction will be posted on the journal's website, and the author(s) and their institution(s) will be informed of the decision.
