Abstract

Introduction. The article deals with the structure of the semantics of Ukrainian adjectives in the lexicographic system of the explanatory type. The study was conducted on the basis of the electronic form of the Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language in 20 volumes, which is being created by the Ukrainian Language and Information Foundation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The dictionary is presented in the form of the Virtual Lexicographic Laboratory “Dictionary of the Ukrainian Language”. The relevance of the study is due to the use of computer technologies in semantics research aimed at creating automated systems for processing language information. The main tool for semantic analysis in these systems is electronic explanatory dictionaries.
