NONVERBAL MEANS OF COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH-LANGUAGE LITERARY TEXT AND ITS UKRAINIAN TRANSLATION

Abstract
Introduction. The study of nonverbal means of communication is relevant in the context of a literary text and its translation, as the nonverbal communication of characters serves not only as a means of reproducing information, but also as a way of revealing character traits, emotional state of the characters, and their interaction. The translation of textual kinemes is an important task for a translator, as their proper reproduction in the translation of a literary text helps to preserve the author’s individual style, drama of the dialogue / monologue of the source text, and the communicative impact on the reader of the target culture.
