Abstract

Introduction. In the mainstream of modern linguopoetics, studying the features of the poetic individual style that reveal the peculiar character of the artist’s worldview becomes a topical issue. Interesting are the artistic images which in terms of realizing the author’s creative scheme rise to level of the national cultural dominants.
The purpose is to trace the transformation of the folk linguistic units of the poet’s linguistic thought by means of the structural-semantic analysis of the author’s individual nationally marked verb innovations.
Results. It is established that simple denominative verb units are mostly formed by suffixal formants. The motivators of the forming stems of the verb innovations are signs of Ukrainian ethnoculture, so special decoding is required to define the underlying senses.
Suffixal-postfixal formation method contributes to the update of the lexical-grammatical class of words with the meaning of processual feature. Usual derivational models are used to produce verb units while the latter’s metaphorisation of motivation words shows on semantic level.
Valuable in the author’s linguistic world in terms of the originality of both the structure and the semantics are occasionalisms formed by pefixal-suffixal method.
Due to lack of analogies in the usage, vague semantics is characteristic of the innovations formed by the pefixal-suffixal and prefixal-postfixal methods. Such verb innovations contribute to the synonymical linguistic variety.                                                                                              The prefixal-suffixal-postfixal method of formation of innovative verb units brings along brighter poetic images as the processual meaning is perceived through associations with a definite object of the objective world.
The originality of the research results has to do with the first ever analysis of the structural and semantic features of the author’s individual nationally and culturally marked verb innovations of Taras Melnychuk’s poetic texts.
Conclusion. It is shown that the modern combination, reconsideration, structural and semantic complication of the author’s individual verb units represents the original individual style of T. Melnychuk’s creative work – the style that grows from Ukrainian national poetic tradition. The study of the dissident poet’s linguistic world looks promising and requires further thorough research.
